The Canadian law is a bit complex. When a situation that requires an independent body to create a certain law then the Supreme Court will analyze it and make the final decision which should be followed. The parliament is the only federal body that makes laws for the whole nation. Its power is divided onto the monarch, the Canadian Senate and the House of Commons. Criminal law in Canada is one of the main branches. The provinces are the ones who administer provincial criminal law courts. They operate by common law.
